Our website is currently only built to handle online donations – either as a one off donation or as regular giving. However, there are more ways to donate and we’re working on updating the website to reflect that.
In the meantime, here is some guidance about the different ways you can also make a donations:
By cheque payable to ‘St Mary Abbots Appeal’. Please post cheques to:
- St Mary Abbots Appeal
- St Mary Abbots Centre
- Vicarage Gate
- W8 4HN
If you are eligible for Giftaid (a UK tax payer), we can claim an additional 25p for every pound you donate, from HMRC, and we would really appreciate it if you could include a SMA Giftaid declaration form with your donation, which you can download here.
By transfer or standing order, you can do this via our ‘Donate‘ page, but if you would rather set this up yourself the appeal’s bank details are:
- Account name – St Mary Abbots Appeal
- Bank name – Metrobank
- Account number – 16889997
- Sort code – 23-05-80
By Payroll Giving (also called Paye As You Earn) through your payroll/HR department, you can give to the appeal regularly and on a tax free basis. These donations are deducted before tax so each £1.00 you give will only cost you 80p, and if you’re a higher rate tax payer it will only cost you 60p. For higher rate taxpayers this is the only way to pass on your 40% or 45% tax to charities (only 28% can be recouped via other ways of giving).
By Online Shopping when you book a holiday, take out insurance, change your utility supplier, broadband or mobile provider or with brands such as M&S, Waitrose, John Lewis, Amazon, Boden, The White Company, Ralph Lauren? Please shop for charity (yes really!) by registering at Easyfundraising.org and the Appeal will receive a donation every time you shop at over 3,000 websites (there’s no cost at all to you). You can also register as a business too.
By Fundraising for us – if you are thinking of raising funds for the appeal, thank you! Please get in touch to tell us about your plans. We hope all the information above is helpful. If you are raising sponsorship or setting up a ticketed event, we can arrange a fundraising page for you which deducts less commission than some of the other options available, making the most of all your hard work.
By leaving a Legacy in your will you are helping to safeguard the church for generations to come. The appeal has been fortunate enough to benefit from bequests that have made it possible to complete Phase 1 of the masterplan and the church is grateful beyond words to those who have remembered it in this way. Leaving a legacy can also affect your loved ones’ Inheritance Tax liability. If you are thinking about leaving the appeal a gift in your will, we would recommend seeking professional advice from a solicitor.
