Excellent progress is being made on Phase 1 of the Appeal Masterplan

The most obvious sign of work is the scaffolding to the roof, enabling the renewal of roof areas above the Nave, Aisles, porches and South Transept (Item A; repairs to the Chancel roof will be carried out later in the appeal cycle, see H). We hope the scaffolding will be coming down in early November.

The role was urgently needed to ensure we reach our ambitious income targets. Karen will be developing a fundraising portfolio including grants and trusts, events, major donors, corporate sponsorship, community engagement and legacies. St Mary Abbots is a large and extremely busy Church of England Parish Church, with a high public profile, serving the heart of Kensington in West London.
We have launched a multi-million pound Appeal to raise funds for a comprehensive restoration and enhancement of the church building. Kensington, 5 June 2015: St Mary Abbots Parish Church, Kensington, today announces the launch of an historic fundraising appeal to raise £7m over three years to restore one of London’s most beautiful and historic churches. This appeal will improve St Mary Abbots as a place of worship and allow it to expand as a community hub.
St Mary Abbots, itself 140 years old, is the fourth church to stand on a site that has served the community of Kensington and Chelsea for a millennium. It is launching this fundraising effort to ensure that the church is fit for purpose for generations to come. Read More
